Part of the "Three Ways To Approach" series of caches.
Micro cache, so bring your pen.
This is a 2 part Multi-Cache starting at the location above.
The first cache will provide a hint for finding the second part.

The background image is not of this location but shares the same name and theme.

You may want to SKIP this cache IF it's raining hard since the second stage ends up along the stream itself.

NO Parking on Bonita Canyon. Please use legal parking on Ford Road, near the west sports park area.

The first stop on this short tour will take you an overlook above the small stream.
This steam just keeps running, even in the REALLY hot heat, it just keeps flowing.

Across the stream you'll notice a taler rock face. This was once used by rock climbers for favorite sport.
Take a walk around the bushy area later if you want to see it better.

It's surprising to see all the slightly worn paths here. I wonder who (or what) else, besides cachers, have been in these bushes and why.

BE CAREFUL climbing the rocks to get to the cache, a walking stick is suggested.

Once you find the cache, note the color of the container.
You can exchange small items in this container, no room in the second. Please sign them both.

The second part of this Multi is down stream from the first. Go back to the path and head down there.
You CAN'T get to the second part following the stream because of the waterfall.
YES, a WATERFALL in the middle of this area. Can you beleive it?

Trail is more open but a little steeper, be careful but not scared away.
Once you get to the general location of the 2nd way point, have a look around. You'll be amazed this is here.
The walls and the water seem so out of place. Did you bring a fishing pole? Yes, there's fish in the pool. There was an inflatable boat there when I placed the cache.

Enough rambling, once you get to the 2nd way point look for the STARS. See them? Don't get wet.
What color are the STARS?
How did they get where they are? Wow!
DO you see a HEART the color of the first stage container? There's only one.
Get into a place you can see it clearly without being obstructed by the hanging tree branches (walk around a bit).

If you can clearly see the COLORED HEART, then you are very near the the final cache container.
The final container is NOT the color of the stars nor the heart.
It does blend in with the surroundings but not not that hard to find if you use your head.

Please, please make sure you put it back where you find the cache. It looks like the kids come down here to hang out and we don't want then stumbling into the cache. Remember CITO when you're here.
Log ONLY, bring a PEN....

Hope you enjoy the adventure and the area...

Found the first cache, took some time and my buddies foot was broke so that didn't help. Didn't find cords to second cache. Quess I'll have to come back.

As CA Girls indicated, we were unable to find the final cache. In the mud I found a flip-top tube that was similar to the container used at the nearby "Between the bridges" cache.

The fuzzy cache guardian for the first waypoint provided me some entertainment after it attacked the CA Girls and hung around for much of the rest of the day.

On an attempt to get a bit of exercise, BuzzKill and I set out to find a few local caches. This was our first stop....we found part one quite easily - although the fuzzy cache guardian wreaked havoc on my allergies the rest of the day. We were coated in a fine layer of fluff for the rest of the hike.

We followed the instructions and found the locale of the second part but didn't see any colored hearts. We did find an empty container that looked like some of the other caches we found later in the day but it was lying on the ground. Pretty spot though.

An amazing find in the middle of all that development. Started off on the path after the find, but got stopped by a snake out sunning. Bummer!

This was quite the hike. We did the 3W2A trail from #7 to #1, thinking the waterfall would be a treat at the end. After a strenuous and dangerous maneuver across a rock and a bush, we all four got to the cool darkness on the other side. WavyGirl went down to the stream to look at the water, while SillyCutie was just happy to have arrived in a stable place. By pure luck I saw the first cache, but HuckleberryFinn retrieved it and signed all our names so we wouldn't have to clamber up to it. The hike down to the second cache was nicer, once we got past the bad part. HuckleberryFinn found the second cache easily. This cache was a treat. The kids enjoyed the pool and the other amenities so much that I had to speak sternly to them to come along, or we'd be late for lunch. Thanks for all the fun on this trail!

Found it in short order. Got a little worried when I saw the deflated boat. But it was just deflated. I huffed and puffed and filled the boat up with air again. Walked out on the dock and floated over to the insignias on the wall. Looked and looked at the "hint" but didn't find it. So I pushed myself around and later took a swim. Glad I remembered to bring my swimming trunks. Swung around on the swings too taking dives into the deep section. What a great place. I don't remember ever having such fun. Anyway, one thing is true, I found the cache.

Okay...So maybe I took the hard way in to find these caches (I did find some easier trails as I was hoofing it back out), but, as a crusty old scoutmaster, I couldn't help but think that some basic trail safety on this one would have been a good idea. A good, sturdy pair of shoes to start with. Taking a buddy along is prudent, too, and telling somebody where you are going wouldn't hurt either. I wouldn't want to have to cut the old arm off to get back home from this one.

Having said that, this cache is a hoot-and-a-half. I very much enjoyed myself and the discovery of this water fall. This place is quite magical considering its location. Thanks, jshults. This one is too cool. Now, I just need to explain to Mrs. Polo Dad why I came home from work today with wet shoes.

I took that nifty little snake in the first cache and left a quarter. Signed both logs. TFTC!!!!

Found it 8/17/2006 by Happy & Skippy
This one popped up on the way to work so Skippy dropped Happy off and took off to enjoy this lovely area in the middle of the concrete jungle. This little stroll beats the socks off working! Amazingly good coords despite the location. Tried to blow up the raft and float away, but the holes were too big. So, took a little of the trash out instead, and left a pencil (of course).

Thanks for the riparian cache,

Happy & Skippy :)

Hints
It looks like the water level can rise on a rainy day.
Even if it rains, this cache SHOULD be safe.
