Visitors to Fairview Park can now cross Placentia Avenue without waiting for a traffic light, which is great because we found some of our very first caches here--hidden by Team Farf.

The 155-foot long, 12-foot wide bridge is made of weathering steel, which is exposed metal that's allowed to rust on the surface without affecting the integrity of the structure. That gives it a look like wood, said city parks program manager Bart Mejia. "That is one of the features that we wanted to achieve was that rustic look so that it blends in with the park," he said. The nearly $579,000 cost of the bridge was paid for by state grants and city funds.

The bridge has been open about a month now, but ribbon-cutting has been postponed indefinitely (It may be due to complaints over why over a half million dollars was spent for a bridge and not on the nearby high school).

CAUTION do not walk faster than 15 MPH here

You are looking for an Altoids tin magnetized to the "weathering steel."

Kisses Happy Valentines Day from TRAKD Kisses
My partner “Brave Sir Robin” and I finished another “FUN” day at our conference. We parked and took a nice little stroll to this bridge and were very surprised to find it where the GPSr pointed. Bridges and abandoned vehicles you either get it immediately or it takes a while. This one only took a few minutes. I was a little worried about retrieving it but that turned out to be a non issue. We signed the log, replaced it, and continued our adventures. Wink Cheers ToungeOut
