Okay, so it isn’t a remarkable cache, but it IS completely different from the one we previously had across the street which is how it got its name.

Please replace and reattach as found so it doesn't get lost in the jungle.

Green, plastic, 4" tall, 2.75" wide and 1.75" thick. Snap on lid. These heavy duty water resistant containers were originally issued to troops in the field. They contained a personal decontamination kit for use in case of chemical attack.

Hurry...the first 8 cachers can get a training pad (not the actual caustic ones). Please only take one.

The M258A1 Personal Decontamination Kit contains 3 pairs of gauze pads soaked in decon solution. The first pad is predominantly alcohol and phenol while the second pad contains alcohol and zinc chloride. Together they form benalkonium chloride, a bleach solution. Packet No. 1 adsorbs and neutralizes the G-type nerve agents, whereas Packet No. 2 adsorbs and neutralizes the nerve agent VX and liquid mustard.

The user must remember that when using packet Number 1, one full minute of wiping the contaminated area is needed. The user must also remember that wiping with packet Number 2 must continue for two minutes. Speed and accuracy are critical in the proper use of this kit, and the soldier must have committed the decontamination procedure to memory. The decontamination solution is a skin-burn hazard in sensitive areas of the body and must be kept out of the eyes, the mouth, and any open wounds.

The ingredients of the DECON-1 and DECON-2 packets of the M258A1 kit are poisonous and caustic and can permanently damage the eyes. KEEP PADS OUT OF THE EYES, MOUTH, AND OPEN WOUNDS.

The M58A1 training aid was developed to avoid unnecessary exposure to the caustic components of the M258A1 kit during training and is used in the same manner as the M258A1 skin decontamination kit. The training aid and the decontamination kit are distinguished by packaging color: The M258A1 kit contains olive drab packets in an olive drab plastic case whereas the M58A1 training aid contains blue packets in a black plastic case. The content of the M58A1 packets is 2¬propanol and water.

The M258 and M258A1 decon kits have been predominantly replaced with the less caustic M291 Personal Decontamination Kits, however these do not come with such handy little cache containers.

I'm just amazed at how well these containers hide themselves. It didn't take a long time to spot, but longer than it should have, I suppose. I'm using one of these for one of my own hides, but perhaps I shall get more. Thanks for the fun.

Easy cache. Nat Jack found the cache. Took one of GeoPirates Poker Chip (nice idea). Left Marlin from "Finding Nemo"

Thanks for the decon lesson. Hopefully will never need to use it. Nice and easy find. Replaced it a little better than I found it.

Cool Howdy from TRAKD Cool
My partner “Brave Sir Robin” and I finished up another day of classes at our conference and headed out to find a few caches. We really needed to stretch our legs with these long days so this was a perfect walk. We spotted the treasure quickly and signed the log. Thanks for the adventure. Wink Cheers ToungeOut

TRAKD and I adventured forth after serving our time at a conference - we needed a caching break. So we strapped on our walking shoes and grabbed a bunch. This was a quick find for us. Thank for the excuse to adventure.
