| This webcam cache is located at one end of
the Fun Zone in Balboa. You'll have a nice view of the harbor
and the Balboa Island ferry. Parking... well good luck! There
is metered parking along the street - if you can find it -
and metered parking along Balboa Blvd - if you can find it.
As one would expect, this area will be much busier during the
summer months. |
While you're here, be sure to check out

your friend, need to "hunt" for the cache.
- Call a friend and have your friend go to this cache page or the
webcam

have them send you the picture so that...
- When you make your Webcam Photo Taken log entry you can

Finally! A do-it-yourself webcam cache. I LOVE the fact that the photos are saved over a 24 hour period. Just to make sure, I had two people taking pictures of us. The first person caught the wrong people. The second person didn't actually save them. When I look at the image of me, it states Dec 31 1969. I wasn't even born yet! This is the absolute best webcam since it can see me before conception.
I was there at 12:09p.m. on 2-18-2007. When I looked in the archives, the images for that day stops at 11:58pm. Then it lists pictures from the following day. After that, it picks up on 2-18, but at 16:01. When I look at 16:09, I saw myself. So it appears that whatever takes the pictures, a computer, crashed and reset itself.
Well, thanks for the cache.

This was a fun one to find. I had my cell with me and brought up the webcam page. After some walking around I found the right spot. Tried posing next to the pole with the wreath on it, but the light wasn't right. Hopped up on the brick wall and got a shot holding my GPS out to my left. Shadows were tricky. After I got the pic I headed off to the Fun zone arcade and then coldstone
Note to other cachers... you don't really need someone to take and save the picture, if you know where to stand and you stand still long enough. The webcam site archives the images every min for the past 24 hrs.

This was a good early morning cache while I was looking for coffee. The sun is behind me, but it is really me!

Seems the camera locations have been moved between these 2 webcams. Long story short, this one has been corrected, the other one has been disabled until I can figure out what's going on.

Seems that this camera is either down, disabled, or has been moved elsewhere. I'll see what the problem is and get it back up again as soon as I can find the time to do so.

Ah, my first photo cam. Sorry for the less than obvious photo. My wife was at the helm and it is hard to ensure she is doing the right thing over the less than perfect phone reception. Anyway, I take what I can get. Thanks for setting it up.
