| This webcam cache is located at the Fun
Zone in Balboa. You'll have a nice view of the harbor and the
Balboa Island ferry. There is a lot to do in the area, bring
the family and enjoy! As one would expect, this area will be
much busier during the summer months. |
While you're here, be sure to check out
the Balboa Fun Zone II webcam cache and my other

- A friend at his/her computer with an internet connection.
- A mobile phone or set time when you will be at the cache
site.
How to find and claim this webcam virtual cache:
- Go to the coordinates of this cache.
- The coordinates get you to the area of the cache. They are not
exact coordinates telling you where to stand. You, with the help of
your friend, need to "hunt" for the cache.
- Call a friend and have your friend go to this cache page or the
webcam
page.
- Let them guide you on where to stand for the best picture
then...
- Wave to the camera and wait for an update! (this webcam updates
approximately every 30 seconds).
- When your friend sees a good webcam picture, have them right
click on the webcam picture and select "Save Picture As...". Then
have them send you the picture so that...
- When you make your Webcam Photo Taken log entry you can
upload image with the log.
- Webcam Photo Taken logs without proper pictures will
be deleted (no night shots - you must be visible in the
picture). Alternate forms of photos
will not be accepted. Please don't log it until you
have your picture ready for upload.

Hi BuzzKill,
I noticed that this cache has been temporarily disabled for a period of time well in excess of the period of ‘a few weeks’ as contemplated by the cache guidelines published on Geocaching.com. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can't do so forever. Please either repair/replace this cache, or archive it so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if you haven’t done so already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.
I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future.
You may email me at via the link to my profile on the log. Please be sure to include the cache name and GCxxxx number, or better yet, the URL of the cache page.
Thanks for your cooperation! Nomex Northern California Volunteer Cache Reviewer

Some changes occurred with these webcams, resulting in this one being down. I'm disabling this one until I can figure out what's going on.

Don't know why, but the web cam link isn't working for me. Works on Balboa Fun Zone II. The picture on the cache description is for Balboa Fun Zone II, not I. The link as indicated as the place to go doesn't connect to anything...unless we use the same photo for both. But the pictures in the logs below are for a different location.

As of the time of this posting, this webcam is still operational.

Is it just me or is the webcam no longer operational? The camera in the arcade is working, maybe it is close enought to move it over there if this webcam link doesn't return to service.

This was the last day of my vacation in Newport and the last cache I “found”, but it was also the 1st WebCam cache I’ve done. I called CoronaKid at work to see if he could do the “assist” and he graciously did all the hard work. We tried again a few minutes later at “Balboa Fun Zone II” but the camera was not cooperation this morning. Thanks Buzzkill for the cache and thanks to CoronaKid for snagging the picture.

Hmm . . . What can I say this was my first or second webcam find. Out with Moma Cache trying to add to our numbers and having a great time. Sort of a comedy of errors thing. I guess this is first because we thought we were able to get Fun Zone II, but it wasn't us. Ops. Thanks for this great adventure.
