This was one in series of four caches placed to show the UCI
campus.
Now it's all by itself, unless you go grab "And The Oscar Goes
To..." which is within easy walking distance. |
This is an itty bitty, log only, no pen having cache, so bring a
pen.
Parents may want to keep a hand on the youngster on this one
depending on how crowded it gets here.
On a clear summer night, you can see Disney’s fireworks from the
cache site, or close to it. (They start at 9:35pm, bearing 339
true, 12 miles) A few years ago, you could actually *hear* them.
Admittedly it was really faint, but you *could* hear them.
A couple of notes about parking at UCI:
• Don’t park in a loading zone. After 15 minutes, you *will* get
ticketed. Besides, you might get in my way, and I have the parking
people on speed dial. I’d hate to do that to a geocacher.
• All of the parking structures have timed spaces. These spaces
are charged at 10 cents for 3 minutes ($2/hr). NEVER put more than
$7 into the machines. At $7, you can get an all day pass from the
attendant good in any unreserved space in all three parking
structures.
• During the school year, parking on campus Tuesdays and
Thursdays during the day is basically impossible.
• The shopping center across Campus Drive from campus
discourages people parking there for UCI use.

We were at the UC Irvine Homecoming game. I graduated there class of '96.
Ended up parking near the cache, so we couldn't resist. SL

I left my daughter at the music department and went over to find Pyramid Power. This one was right back where we'd parked earlier. I wonder how packed with people this place is when there's a baseball game on? Made the quick grab, signed the log and replaced it.

Thanks for the cache.

clever, and not too difficult if you account for altitude! Found on an evening outing with family, the Colombian Princess.

We had a great time with this one. It took us a little longer than some of the other cachers. We hit almost every level. We hunted and hunted. One of us was convinced it was up and the other was convinced it was down. We finally saw the view and were grateful for the break. There were airplanes and pole vaulting. It was so nice. Thank you for the opportunity.

I drove to the cache site while YourBuddyBill walked. He found the cache pretty quickly. This is one of the smallest micro caches I've seen. From here you can see five or six other cache sites. Thanks for the fun, and for the view!
