This is a small cache a few steps off the entrance to this bike trail.

This is a beginning of a series along this somewhat isolated bike trail. There’s only a couple of entry points along this trail and this is one that has some street parking. The trail is usually pretty empty, but take a look around for muggles before venturing after the cache.

The cache container is pretty small and will only holds very small trade items. There’s a log, pencil and a few trade items. Also included is an unactivated GeoCoin as a First To Find prize (secured to the outside of the container since it wouldn't fit).

Not many people around, other than a rare jogger and a couple of guys hanging out in the ditch for no reason. We don't have any interest in the superbowl, so we used the time to geocache. Originally, when these caches came out we were still living in Costa Mesa, so I mentally put it on a list of things to do first after moving to Irvine. It's really a great little trail, and I've seen it from the freeway many times, thinking I might put a cache there myself sometime. The noise was a bit heavy, though. Thanks for the hide, and the walk. It's always nice to have an excuse to follow a foot path.

Quick cache and dash & nice biking access point out - been here before to search for another cache some time ago. TFTC!

Amending the log to point out that there are two great Mega Events in Southern California being planned for February 2007, President's Weekend. The first is the Geocoinfest in Temecula (GCZ5V8). The second is the Temecula Valley Geocaching Event III (GCZ5V3). Add it to your calendar and come out to the Temecula Valley and meet great cachers from around the world!!!

My father and I started at Geezer Gulch this morning. When we were done, this was the nearest cache so we decided to go for it. Then we were hooked and had to finish the series!! 2 hours later...we stopped at Ralph's for water and made our way back to the car. This path is a little loud but very nice. I have lived in Irvine for 12 years and never been here. To me this is what geocaching is all about. Thank you for luring us over here. Great idea.

4th to find. I went to the end of the trail and got this one on the way back. Muggle was playing with a dog but just as I got to the area he left. Thanks for all the hides and the coins. Happy New Year

Twas two days after new years and all though Johns house,
not a creature was stirring, not even a louse.
The gps was placed by the computer with care,
In hopes that publish notifications soon would be there.
Suddenly John jumped like stung by a bee,
"New Caches I see, count them one, two, three."
He jumped in his transport at the crack of day,
Screeming and honking, "Get out of my way!"
Near GZ, he jumped out and to the cache he went creeping,
While all other geocachers still were a sleeping.
"Eureka, I found it! And the other 2, they're mine!"
"There's nothing wrong with that, I'm committing no crime."
So off to the others, he went off in a dash,
Mornings are better when finding some cache.

Congrats John for the taking all the FTFs! I wasn't surprised. Funny thing, I get to this one and there is no coin...I figured. I did find one at the second one. And again at the third; however, like JJG10101, I liked the second one better and replaced it with the third. So ironically, the coin that was in the first cache is now in the last.

As for the caches, well done. Nicely hidden and the containers are nice too. Thanks for the good job and the coins. Very much appreciated.

FTF! So for Christmas, I got one of them newfangled Groundspeak "notification" alarm clocks. C'mon, you've seen these things. They wake you from a sound sleep when there's a new cache listed. ;-)

So I get to this one and there's a brand spankin' new geocoin attached to the cache. Very cool, I nab it! So I take the coin to the next new one, and, hold on, that one has a coin as well. Hmmn, I think I like the second one better (and the log says just to take one from the series!). So I take the second coin and leave the first in its place. Then I go to the third new cache and *it* has a coin. So I take the coin from the third, and in its place I leave the coin from the second. Follow all that?

Hey, I was FTF on all three, so I get to pick the one I want, oui? ;-) Many thanks to woodruft & woodrufj for the series and the geocoin. The coin, BTW, has "Join the obsession" on one side. I swear that in the dim morning light, I thought it said "John, the obsession." ;-)

Oops, almost forgot. I took travel bugs and left wooden nickels in all three. TFTC!
