| The home of the original Boxwood travel bug, TB11W0Y. Also the home
of its replacement, TB11QXA, which we released after the first one
disappeared for several months. Located in Talbert Regional Park,
near the west end of 19th street in Costa Mesa. |
in, but there was a knothole in one of the boards facing him and on
the far side he could see a twitching nose.
"I am Hazel-rah," he said. "I have come to
talk to you. Can you understand me?"
The answer was in slightly strange but
perfectly intelligible Lapine. "Yes, we understand you. My name is
Boxwood. Where do you come from?"
"From the hills. My friends and I live as
we please, without men. We eat grass, lie in the sun and sleep
underground. How many are you?"
"Four. Bucks and does."
"Do you ever come out?"
"Yes, sometimes. A child takes us out and
puts us in a pen on the grass."
"I have come to tell you about my
warren. We need more rabbits. We want you to run away from
the farm and join us."
"There's a wire door at the back of this
hutch," said Boxwood. "Come down there: we can talk more
easily."

This cache is located less than 25
feet from a path to the south. It's not hard to find,
really.

I had planned to archive this listing, but was encouraged to give it another chance. New Boxwood TB released, using COPY tag. There's another Boxwood out there, somewhere, but it seems to be out of circulation. Everything is mostly back to normal. I don't know why someone felt the need to cut through the bottom of the outer container. Lots of odd people out there.

Went to the Hutch this morning and found that it has been muggled but was repairable. The brown cylinders are not the cache but close by. The lizard is still there. I fixed the cache and placed a few items in it to bring good Karma in hopes that the owner will reactivate it. I just love this cache.

Hmm...could be the end of the hutch.

We believe this cache site has been muggled. Brown cylinders were found split open near large item that probably was cache hiding spot.

We dedided to log this as a found, even though we did not locate the cache. We believe this cache has been mugggled. We found the large item that could have been some type of rabbit or small animal hutch. It was the right size and in the right location. However, there was no cache in sight. About 10 feet away we found two brown cylinders that had been split open and discarded. They were about the size of a loaf of bread and didn't have any other reason to be in this isolated place other than to be a cache holder. On the positive side, the vandalized cylinder cache is now providing shelter to a lizard (as we shockingly discovered).

Visited "Boxwoods Hutch" to return "Boxwood" TB to his hutch. Unfortunately, the Hutch was gone. So left Boxwood in the cache container along with "30th Birthday Bug Set- Member "B".
