Located above Newport’s Upper Back Bay this spot affords an excellent spot to view the harbor area and the Upper Bay as well. Trail entrance is at N33 37.523 W117 52.859

Cache container is a waterproof match container about a foot from the sprinkler at the base of a shrub. I know I just totally gave away the cache, I really just wanted to share this view with you, not make you work finding a small container in the bushes.

My significant other and I where Out’n about with our friends from Coeur d’Alene Idaho, showing them what it is like to geocache without SNOW. We picked this one up after working some of OC_Clay’s caches down on Back Bay Dr. A little out of the way but the view from up here made the walk worth while. I set my GPSr right on top of the sprinkler; it read 2ft from GZ. If MightyDee had not given such a good description for the cache, we would have had a hard time finding the container. Good camouflage and hiding job.

Wow! I am on a roll this trip. Confluenceman must not have his California legs under him because I found this one too! I know tomorrow he will start catching up. This was a great find. Interesting and quite an adventure finding the approach. I like this one too because it wasn't "the same old cache". Tomorrow is our second California day and we are off to San Juan Capistrano and Turnbull Summit to see what we can find. More reports to find.

Tricky access to this one. Didn't realize there was a gated community which denied us the shortest path. Instead, climbed the hill from the Back Bay road. Had to ford a stream.
Great view from the top. CachinGal, my faithful companion, spotted it first. I couldn't even see it as she was pointing it out to me! Good camo.

Found this one while out caching with lovesanimals. This upper path was really quiet, compared to the lower path. Great views. Nice camo. SL, TFTC!
