An inconspicuous nano on Orange Coast Community College Campus.

As it turns out, this nano continues an inadvertant series dedicated to the unsung heroes of college education: the freeway fliers. These folks are the part time instructors that you see in multiple college catalogs. Typically they're sort of fresh out of graduate school and have yet to land a full-time position, so they teach one course at one campus, and another course at another campus. I have heard of one such instructor working at 5 campuses in the same semester.

Anyway, this is very much a canned nano (you'll know how punny that was when you find the cache), typical of those hiders that buy stuff from "online auction sites" (can I say "ebay" without getting in trouble?!). It is log only, so BYOP.

Though I was never a freeway flier to that particular school, I know lots of people that were. This campus is home to countless ground squirrels. Much to my surprise I had to sit and watch one climb a palm tree before it was muggle-free enough to place the cache. To me a squrrrel climbing a palm tree is a pretty strange sight.

This cache is conveniently located near the science hall, in view of lab rooms and the chemistry building in the heart of OCC campus.

Congrats to TGR for the FTF!!

I managed to park a long way from the cache but that was OK as it gave me chance to see more of the campus. My GPSr took me right to the cache and I was soon on my way back across the very quite campus. Thanks for the fun.

One of 58 caches done in half a day with Twisted Bandits & Lil TOTT. We would have done a lot more if I hadn't of had bowling today and to work tomorrow.

We stamped the log with our new FMAM group stamp.
Thanks for the cache!

Ah, OCC. Being here brings back memories. Like the time they screened movies in the Forum. First one I saw was "The Exorcist." Hang on, that's a scary memory. Nevermind. ;-) TFTC!

Didn't see any likely places at the GZ site, so had to break down an look at Hint. It ended up being quite a distance from GZ, glad we checked. With a constant flow of students through the area, it was very difficult to look like we belonged and still look around. Had to resort to the ole "drop some change" and look around ploy. Saw it, and was able to retrieve and replace without any notice from OCC students.

Found it quick, just had to time it between students coming and going from the near by classes. Didn't see the squirrel though.

I've been taking classes at this school on and off for many years and I got my AA degree here a loooong time ago, so I was excited to see a new cache here. I'm currently taking a class here once a week, so that seemed like as good as time as any to look for it. I grabbed a friend of mine who teaches here and off we went in search of it. The cache turned out to be located about 50 feet from his office door.

Thanks!

I had to SIT and watch the squirrel RIGHT there on the palm tree.
