| Short hike to this cache with nice views. |
*Cache is NOT at posted coordinates*
Coordinates will take you to a man made feature at the top of a small hill with nice views of the Newport Beach area, and on a clear day Catalina Island and Long Beach. If it's really clear you can see the LA skyline and even the Hollywood sign.
The man made feature that you find at this location has a date imprinted on it. Add the number of this date to both of the following coordinates to get the location of the actual cache:
33 36.101 117 48.797
(add the date to MinDec numbers without the decimals, e.g., 36101 + date, 48797 + date, then put the decimal back in it's normal place to get the proper coordinate.)
No need to bushwack to the final as it is just off a trail.
You are looking for a medium size plastic snap top container. It is suitable to hold small bugs. Initially placed with plenty of fun stuff including a new TB "SpongeBug Travelpants", a sand dollar, a Disney button, and a $20 gift certificate to McCormick & Schmick's restaurant.
Best place to park is near "Park on a Stick" cache: N 33° 38.161 W 117° 50.659

I really enjoyed this one. I had guessed roughly where it would be; I was 25 feet off (a good starting place if it were a JShults cache!)I love these hills. UCI's first chancellor, Dan Aldrich, loved the rocky outcroppings so much that he made the campus plan preserve them; a lovely example of their integration can be found in the center of Aldrich Park (the center of the campus.)

Great hide. I enjoy multi caches, they add a little more to the quest. TFTC

Found it. Oh boy did I mess up. I found the first spot and then did the math wrong. I walked down about .5 and knew I did done something wrong so I walked back up to wp1 and re-did the math doh! I was so worried about snakes I was hopping like a Gazelle through the brush. I found out you don't have to bushwack at all to the final. Thanks I got my work out for the day.

As the cache seems to be getting popular as a bug motel, we renovated our accommodations. The cache now has much more room for bugs to take up temporary residence. We had to reorganize the camo just a bit. Clues and coordinates remain valid. Dropped off TB Island Girl.

uhhg, nice short walk to the wp1, but at night we made a wrong turn or two, and made for a loooong nice hike, but not to the final!, realized a mistake, but had to call it quits here as it was getting late. I can't wait to come back, the Geodog loved the area, and i want to see it in daylight, so now I already now where to go!
Thanks for the great location point out, the night views of the city are awesome here, 360 degree view, we saw the Disneyland fireworks show while on the hill.
I'll be baaaack!
